Customers choosing Systems Dynamics software products often opt for SaaS mode of implementation in contrast to "at premises" server license.
Under SaaS "monthly subscription" model, the licensee has to pay a fixed subscription based on volume of transactions and/or number of users; he saves all capital and operational expenses on servers, software platform, recurring upgradation and maintenance costs on both hardware and software, database administrator and other technical personnel costs.
SD has made substantial investments in highly scalable servers, database, IT infrastructure management, software engineers, network engineers, security engineers, firewalls, anti-virus systems and failure protection and redundancy systems. As these are shared resources with multiple users, the customer not only derives great economy but also gains significantly in security and reliability.
As a SaaS licensee you only need to invest in Personal Computer clients and Internet broadband connectivity for each user. In case the product runs on thin clients, the PC should be running just the browser (for e.g. RECRUIT or CRM programs). In case of thick clients (for e.g. many SDBS modules), the PC should have at least 128MB of RAM, 100MB of free disk space and it should be running Windows operating system (XP or Vista). SD takes care of all operations, data back up and systems maintenance and upgrades.
The users can be working in any geography 24x7. Your security administrator assigns user logins and access rights. You can give these rights to employees, customers, suppliers or your consultants or auditors and they could do their assigned work or access only that data to which they have been duly authorised.
